What is Easy Transfers?
Easy Transfers is Nominated Solutions's transfer process. It allows for greater control and faster process. We have added two very important parts to our site:

Auto-Verification:
This is a paper-less transfer process. All transactions and verifications are done online.
"My Transfers":
This new section of the site allows you to check on your transfer orders and their status.

What TLDs are supported in your transfer process?
The list of domains that can be transferred grows every day. Check the Transfers column on the TLD Overview page to see which TLDs can currently be transferred.

How do I transfer a name to Nominated Solutions from another registrar?
There is an electronic process from within your account to perform a Transfer.
You can now either choose the FAX method (you FAX the information to us and we finish the transfer), or the "Auto-Verification" method (paper-less) method which is more convenient and faster.

Transfer instructions

A) Auto-verification (Paper-less) method
Log-in or create a new account and go to "domain names" -> "transfers". Select "Auto-Verification" and click next. Enter the domain name(s) you wish to transfer (one name per line). Select the options you wish to associate with these names and click "next". You can always change these at anytime once the name is in your account.. Each "recommended" option will be selected by default. Registrar lock: will protect your name from being transferred away without your approval. Auto-renew: will renew your domain name right as it is about to expire. Apply WhoIs info: This will automatically apply your WhoIs info to this domain name. Password: you can assign a password right away if you want other people to access this domain name. Review your order. You can re-edit it by clicking on each name. Submit the order by clicking "submit". Your transfer order has been submitted. An email has been sent to the current WHOIS owner for this domain. If you are that person, complete this transfer by following the link provided in the email and approve the request when prompted. Check the status of any transfer order periodically under "My Domains".

B) FAX method
Log-in or create a new account and go to "domain names" -> "transfers". Select "FAX" and click next. Enter the domain name(s) you wish to transfer (one name per line). Select the options you wish to associate with these names and click "next" (this will take a second or two). You can always change these at anytime once the name is in your account. Each "recommended" option will be selected by default. Registrar lock: will protect your name from being transferred away without your approval. Auto-renew: will renew your domain name right as it is about to expire. Apply WhoIs info: This will automatically apply your WhoIs info to this domain name. Password: you can assign a password right away if you want other people to access this domain name. Fill in the WhoIs information (by default the billing contact information will be used). Review your order. You can re-edit it by clicking on each name. Submit the order by clicking "submit". Your transfer order has now been initiated. Your confirmation page will appear, with a link to display and print the sheet you need to send us. Click on that link, print this page and FAX it to us (425-974-4792). You can also email a signed scan to domains@nomsol.com. Your transfer order has now been fully submitted. Check the status of any transfer order periodically under "My Domains".

Do I have to create the transfer electronically, or can I just fax a letter to you?
You must initiate the transfer electronically on our site. In order to provide proper processing of your domains, we need to have the electronic transfer request created. This provides an order number for easy tracking.

Is there a fee for transferring a domain name to Nominated Solutions?
Yes, it will be the same fee as if you were registering a new name. But transferring adds a year to your registration, so it's really like renewing your domain.

Is there any reason why a transfer would be rejected?
A domain is required to be with the current registrar for 60 days, and cannot have an expired status. These are the two common reasons a transfer would be rejected due to domain status. Each registrar may have it's own policy on waiting periods and should be consulted should a question arise.

Is hosting a name the same thing as transferring a name?
No, hosting means that you are leaving the name with another registrar and only using Nominated Solutions's DNS services. There is still a charge for this, it is the same charge as registering a new name.

Once I transfer my name to you, does my time of renewal change?
Yes, it simply adds one year to the time you have left on your original registration.

What does the term "Registrar Lock" mean?
This is a feature that prevents your domain name from being transferred from Nominated Solutions to another registrar. If you are attempting to transfer a name away from Nominated Solutions, this lock must be removed.

How do I add or remove the "Registrar Lock" from my domain?
Log into your account, click "Domain Names" (gold menu item), click "My Domains" (blue menu), click on the domain name you want to modify. This will take you to the Domain Name Control Panel, a page that allows you to edit all settings for this particular domain.
The "Registrar Lock" option is a link named "Set Reg-lock/Auto-Renew Options" at the bottom of the page in the "Utilities" section. Check or uncheck it, press save changes, and you're done.

Is there a charge by Nominated Solutions if I decide to transfer away to another registrar at a later date?
No, we do not charge you to move away from us.

If I transfer my name to Nominated Solutions, does the whois information stay the same?
When you create the transfer order, you have the option to retain the existing whois information, or apply new data. The name server information will always remain the same.
